Dear Student:
Several applicants reported technical problems that prevented them from
completing the application process and submitting an essay. Specifically,
it appears that certain application pages were unable to load before their
computers “timed out”.
Our goal is to use the Internet to make the scholarship application process
easy. We greatly apologize for any inconvenience due to technical problems.
We appreciate your patience and have made the following changes to make
your application process easier:
1. Extended Deadline - The scholarship deadline has
been extended from January 21 to February 28, 2005 to help students who
experienced delays.
2. Shorter Application - The scholarship application
itself has been redesigned and shortened significantly. We expect this
to virtually eliminate the problems reported by some students.
3. Additional Scholarship – In addition to the
$5,000 Student-View Scholarship Essay contest, we have added a $1,000
Student-View Scholarship Drawing that does not require students to write
an essay and will be awarded based on a random drawing. (You must be at
least 18 years old to be eligible for the $1,000 Student-View Scholarship
Drawing. Click here for a complete list of contest rules.)
Did you already complete an application and submit an essay?
If so, you are entered into the $5,000 Student-View Scholarship Essay
contest. We have also automatically entered you into the $1,000 Student-View
Scholarship Drawing contest. Thank you for your application.
Did you start the scholarship application process, but not
complete the application or submit an essay? If so, you
unfortunately will NOT be able to return to you previous application due
to the application redesign. Student Insights would greatly appreciate
it if you could return to the homepage and complete the new, shorter application.
This will help us to administer the scholarship contest more effectively.
If you are not willing to complete the new, shorter application, you can
simply email your scholarship essay along with your name, state of residence,
email address directly to contact@studentinsights.com.
This will enter you into the $5,000 Student-View Scholarship Essay contest
and the $1,000 Student-View Scholarship Drawing.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced.
Sincerely,
Student Insights
